“Food Flight” Thursday November 6 at Desert Willows Golf Resort. Several local hotel and restaurant chefs competed in this evening’s event. There were numerous stations offering samples of tantalizing dishes created to compete in one of the categories for this event or specialty mixed drinks. The attendees got a chance to taste the food dishes and specialty mixed drink beverages. There were ballot boxes for folks to enter their votes. Everything was so very delicious that it would have been a real challenge to vote for one dish or drink over another.
At the entrance of the event, Bing Crosby’s restaurant offered some
sumptuous tastes of filet mignon atop a potato stuffed filo envelope,
the representatives were Nicole Toyne and Ana Schultz. Santa Monica
Seafood offered some exquisite seafood samples, presented by Kathy
Westwood from Westwood Catering. Greg Picard from Cava Restaurant at
the Esmeralda Resort served samples of date salad on a braised leek
with a salted apricot. Palm Springs Arial Tramway restaurant Executive
Chef, J. C. Marquez was there serving some tasty treats. Desert Springs
Chef Marcos Gonzales created a mouth watering “pistachio creme brulee.”
Jeffrey Lunak of the Parke, Palm Springs was serving fois gras and
pistachio panetta with pineapple pistachio brittle.
Dani Cukier, owner of “Dani C” on El Paseo was modeling one of her
gorgeous outfits, she was accompanied by her handsome husband Ron
Pukier.
Steve Beno, the head of the College Of the Desert’s Culinary Arts
program, was carving a block of ice into a gorgeous ice sculpture with
students Dan Hudson and Jeff Weyant. Awesome! Lots of good fun, good
food and drink.
Chico’s on El Paseo was well represented by models Maria Hunt and Nanci
Olson who were modeling some of their beautiful fashions.
As you exited the n ight’s event there was a new Lincoln MKS. The lovely
spokes model, Amanda, was very helpful in demonstrating the new and
high-tech features, like the keyless entry and keyless ignition.
